Amazing Seed

Mixture of roasted and crushed nuts and seeds

Ingredients: linseeds, sunflower seeds, cashews, almonds, sesame seeds, cedar nuts and hemp seeds.

Food value 100 g: proteins 20.2g; carbohydrates 6.9g; fats 44.4g. Energetic value 100g: 505.4 kcal.

The mixture is available either with or without salt. Both sorts can be used in a variety of ways, added to almost any dish. For example, “Amazing seed” can be sprinkled on sandwiches, curds, mashes, salads, stew, vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, etc.), fruit (bananas, avocado, etc.) fried or boiled potatoes, as well as desserts (honey, yoghurt, ice-cream, whipped cream, muesli, pancakes, curd snacks, etc.). “Amazing seed” can also be used to prepare bread crumb mixture for meat, slices of cheese or vegetables.

Rice and dried fruit stew with “Amazing seed”

  1. Ingredients: 200g rice; 1l water; 300ml milk, tablespoon of sugar; dried apricots; tablespoon of raisins; slices of dried apples; “Amazing seed”.
  2. Preparation: cook rice, rinse it and pour into a cooking pot with milk. Add dried fruit, sugar and mix thoroughly. Simmer over low heat. Serve it sprinkled with “Amazing seed” without salt. Add jam, if desired.

Linseeds

(roasted)

Linseeds on the farm “Alsīda” are specially processed, which is the reason they are so crunchy and tasty. You can use linseeds daily as a snack or add them to a variety of dishes, for example, fried or boiled potatoes, different mashes, salads, fruit, curds, sandwiches, soups, cheese, etc.

Linseeds taste great with honey, ice-cream or other desserts. If grinded, they can be mixed with butter or added to pancake dough.

Cabbage with linseeds

  1. Ingredients: small cabbage-head, flour, eggs, linseeds, hemp seeds “Kaņepīte” with salt as well as other spices.
  2. Preparation: Place separate cabbage leaves for a short time in hot salt water, so that the leaves become tender. Cut out the hard stem of the leaf if necessary. Fold the leaves and roll them in the flour and dip into beaten egg, mixed with linseeds and spices. Fry cabbage leaves in the frying pan. Serve with sour cream.

Cheese salad with linseeds

  1. Ingredients: 300g cheese, two middle-sized carrots, 3 boiled eggs, 3 small cloves of garlic, mayonnaise, sour cream, greens, linseeds.
  2. Preparation: boil the carrots until they are tender, peel the carrots. Grate cheese and carrots. Chop eggs, garlic and greens, add linseeds and mix everything with equal amount of mayonnaise and sour cream. Add salt, if necessary.

Vegetable croquettes with linseeds

  1. Ingredients: 200g cheese, middle-sized onion, 2 middle-sized carrots, celery, 3 cloves of garlic, 1 egg, flour, salt, spices or greens.
  2. Preparation: grate or grind cheese and vegetables. Mix with beaten egg, add 4 tablespoons of flour, spices, chopped greens and salt. Shape into small balls and roll them in linseeds, flatten slightly and fry in the frying pan until they are done. Serve with potatoes and cheese sauce.

“Kaņepīte” – Hemp seeds

(cannabis satevae)

We offer our customers slightly roasted, crushed hemp seeds either with or without salt. “Kaņepīte” can be sprinkled on sandwiches or added to different dishes. One can make hemp butter, by just mixing butter with crushed hemp seeds “Kaņepīte” and adding salt, if necessary. “Kaņepīte” can be used to flavour different dishes, for example, salads, curds, potatoes, mashes, sauces, soups etc., by adding “Kaņepīte” when the dish is ready.

Recipies

Pancakes with “Kaņepīte”

  1. Ingredients: flour, eggs, milk, sugar and salt.
  2. Preparation: prepare pancake dough and add “Kaņepīte” without salt. Fry in rapeseed oil. Serve hot with sour cream.

Vegetable stew with “Kaņepīte”, cooked in oven

  1. Ingredients: 3 middle-sized potatoes, 2 middle-sized carrots, ¼ carrot-head, middle-sized onion, 2 cloves of garlic, 2 eggs, ½ tablespoon wheat flour and ½ tablespoon potato-starch, 3 tablespoons sour cream, 100g cheese, greens, 200ml water, salt.
  2. Preparation: lay out peeled potatoes and carrots in the bottom of shallow, heat-resistant dish. Cover with chopped onions, garlic and cabbage. Separately mix water with wheat flour and potato-starch, chopped greens, sour cream and salt. Pour the mixture over the vegetables. Cook in the oven until the vegetables are nearly tender, then pour over beaten eggs, sprinkle with cheese. Cook until the cheese is slightly browned. Serve with sour cream, sprinkle “Kaņepīte” with or without salt.

Sunflower seeds

(roasted)

Carefully refined and roasted sunflower seeds have a golden shade of colour and exclusively pleasant taste. Sunflower seeds can be used separately or added to different salads (carrot, lettuce, etc), mashes, desserts (yoghurt, ice-cream, etc).

Recipe

Pancakes filled with bananas and sunflower seeds

  1. Ingredients: 2 bananas, 3 tablespoons cream, sugar, sunflower seeds.
  2. Preparation: fry thin pancakes as usual. Sliced bananas simmer over low heat while bananas disintegrate, adding cream and sugar. Put the paste on the pancake, sprinkle with sunflower seeds and roll the pancake Serve with some sour jam (for example, red currant jam).

Sesame Seeds

Sesame seeds can be added to salads, sprinkled over sandwiches prior to toasting or used for breading. Unroasted or roasted sesame seeds taste great also with desserts – ice cream, whipped cream, etc.

Fruit salads with sesame seeds

  1. Ingredients: 2 bananas, pear, apple, 2 tinned or fresh peaches, orange (fruit ingredients can be changed to suit your taste), cream, sesame seeds.
  2. Preparation: cube apple, pear and peach, slice bananas, halve orange and squeeze the juice over the fruit. Leave in the refrigerator for an hour to let it soak. Meanwhile whip the cream, adding sugar to taste. Serve with fruit, sprinkle with sesame seeds. You can use ice cream instead of the whipped cream.
